Put your trust in the L-rd
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
There was a time when the whole world was under water. A great flood had devastated everything. And there was one man, Noah, and his family, in an ark.
It reminds me of what we’re going through at the moment. It feels like the whole world is under water, submerged in fear and uncertainty. And like Noah, we too have an ark; somewhere we can escape to, where we can seek refuge from our anxieties, float above the water. And that somewhere is into the loving arms of your Heavenly Father.
In the midst of a lot of uncertainty in our world, let me encourage you to stand strong in your faith. Continue to put your trust in the L-rd – with all your heart. When we lean on G-d rather than our own understanding, He can guide us, calm any fears and lead us on the path before us – whatever that might be.
Just like in many other countries, Israel is facing an increase in coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and the government is working to figure out how to best move forward in this unprecedented time.
As the highly contagious coronavirus spreads around the world, Israel and the Palestinians struggle to contain a local outbreak that has virtually halted daily life in Israel and led to thousands of people entering quarantine.
4,347 Israelis have so far tested positive for the coronavirus, with the vast majority of cases being mild cases. 134 people have recovered, 16 patients have died, and 95 are in serious condition. One Israeli tourist died in Italy.
In the West Bank, 106 cases have been diagnosed so far. One woman in her sixties died.
The best way for you and me to respond is to pray. None of this has taken our God by surprise. Like me, I’m sure you’ve seen many ways He is working in and through circumstances and His people. Truly this is a time for all Believers to live out our faith, to love others in whatever way we are able, and to pray.
In Matthew 24:3, the disciples asked Yeshua: “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
In Matthew 24:6-7, Yeshua answers them: ““And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.””
We are living the outworking of this prophecy.
However Psalm 91:3 declares: “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.”
Verses 5-7 declare: “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.”
And verses 9-11 declare: “Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.”
However, there is a condition to the above protection found in Psalm 91:1: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
And as I said earlier, it feels like the whole world is under water, submerged in fear and uncertainty. And like Noah, we too have an ark, somewhere we can escape to where we can seek refuge from our anxieties, and float above the water. And that somewhere is into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
Continue to dwell “in the secret place of the Most High” and run into the loving arms of your Heavenly Father.
I end with this: Pray for your country and your government. Pray for the frontline workers in your country … And pray for Israel!
Pray for the continued unity and collaboration between the Israelis and Palestinians in battling COVID-19.
Pray for the protection for Holocaust survivors and other vulnerable populations from the virus and swift and effective treatment for those who have been diagnosed.
Pray for the success for the military tech teams and others working to develop more medical equipment and protective gear – and for protection for medical staff and all people on the frontlines of this battle against COVID-19.
And pray for Israelis, as well as Jewish people throughout the world, to be drawn to their Messiah, Yeshua in the midst of all the uncertainty in our world; that they will trust in Him completely and find the peace and hope they need through Him.
Finally, continue to put your trust in the L-rd – with all your heart.
May G-d bring healing and redemption to our world soon.
