THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN
Matthew 16:13-19: “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.””
What do keys symbolize in the Bible? They are used in Scripture as a symbol of authority and power. Giving keys to a person signifies the entrusting of that person with an important charge.
In this context, Yeshua is speaking to Peter, one of his twelve Disciples who became the Apostle to the Jewish people, and says to him: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
The phrase “keys of the kingdom” symbolizes: ‘Authority’.
Jesus is granting Peter (and, by extension, the church) the authority to make decisions and take actions that will have spiritual and eternal consequences.
The phrase “keys of the kingdom” symbolizes ‘Access’.
The “keys” represent access to the kingdom of heaven allowing believers to enter into a deeper relationship with G-d.
The phrase “keys of the kingdom” symbolizes ‘Responsibility'.
With the “keys” comes the responsibility to use this authority wisely, making decisions that align with G-d’s will.
In essence, Jesus entrusted Peter (and the church) with the responsibility of spreading the Gospel which has eternal consequences.

If you have been worrying about what Satan is doing in your life and in this world, it time to have a change in mind-set and put the devil under your feet. And Yeshua has given us all the power and authority we will ever need.
Yeshua has given us the keys of the Kingdom of heaven.
He has promised us that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
This means that we can speak the Word and bind evil spirits, and we can speak the Word and loose angelic forces of G-d to work on our behalf and on behalf of others.
We have been given the power and the authority that enables us to use the mighty name of Yeshua – the name that is above every name, and the name that every knee will bow to – in heaven, on the earth and under the earth.
So take authority over Satan and bind evil spirits that are trying to destroy your family, your home, the church, and the Jewish people and Israel.
Loose G-d’s Word in the earth and enforce it with the name of Jesus.
You hold the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, use them well and use them wisely.
Use the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven to fulfil the Great Commission by speaking the Word of salvation to and over the Jewish people and all people.
And the more you use the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, the more you will walk in the victory of Jesus and the Cross.
The ‘Kingdom of heaven’ denotes a realm where the King, Yeshua, will have dominion over His domain, Heaven, the heavens, earth and everything under the earth.
Prophecy is announcing that the time of G-d’s intervention in human history is about twenty seconds away.
Prophecy is proclaiming that the long-awaited ‘Moshiach’ (Messiah) is coming back to establish G-d’s kingdom on earth.
The kingdom of heaven is at hand, and its arrival is imminent.
The kingdom of heaven is within everyone’s reach, and all people can enter it through faith and repentance.
The kingdom of heaven will bring transformation as Satan will be bound for a thousand years and all people will submit to G-d’s will and live according to His principles.
Zechariah 14:16 declares: “And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.”
Zechariah 14:20 tells us: “In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses.”
Thus the Kingdom of heaven will have come. Are you ready to participate in it?
Finally, you may have the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, but how many people do you know who don’t have the keys of the Kingdom of heaven.
Having the keys of the Kingdom of heaven obligates us to share Yeshua with as many people as possible so that they can come to faith in Yeshua and so that they too will be given the keys of the Kingdom of heaven.
