YOU ARE G-D’S COVENANTAL PERSON
Ephesians 3:14-21: “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
The moment you came faith in Jesus, your name was changed. When you received Jesus as your L-rd and Saviour, He took your name.
Your name was sin; your name was weakness; your name was fear; your name was trouble; your name was defeat.
However, we read in Ephesians 3:14-15: “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named…”
Jesus took those names from you and gave you His own name; an exchange that took place on the Cross. This means you have Jesus’ name, and its authority is now yours to be used for the benefit of others.
So let’s look at the Names of the One you have been named after: Messiah (Saviour); Lord; Wonderful; Counsellor; Mighty God; Everlasting Father; Prince of Peace; Deliverer; Lion of the Tribe of Judah; Word of Life; Bread of Life; Advocate; Provider;
Great I Am; Helper; Lamb of God; Lord of Hosts; Root of David; Author and Finisher of Your Faith; The Way; The Truth; The Life; The Great Physician; Son of God; Chief Cornerstone; King of Kings; Lord of Lords; Light of the World; Chief Shepherd; Priest; Strength and Song; Righteous judge; Son of Righteousness; Resurrection and Life; ‘Alef’ and ‘Tav’ (Alpha and Omega); Immanu El.
These names cover any need you will ever have. The power of G-d is in His name in order to bring that name to pass in every area of your life. All your old names (sin, weakness, fear, trouble, defeat) are wrapped up in the Name of Jesus with all its power and authority; and this has been given to you: John 14:12-13: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
This is why we must constantly pray: “That we may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (revelation); that we may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:9-10).
In other words, “L-rd, give us revelation of Your will and Your Word so that we can walk worthy of You and be Your Kingdom builders”
I fully understand that I am part of a kingdom of priests and part of a holy nation as a Jew and as a born-again, Spirit-filled believer.
To be effective in this I need to have the full revelation of G-d’s holiness, G-d’s Divine rule and direction, and the revelation that I have Jesus’ name.
In other words, I am G-d’s Covenantal person.
As born again, Spirit-filled believers, you need to have the revelation that you are part of a kingdom of priests of the Most High G-d and a precious treasure and His special possession.
To be effective in this you need to have the full revelation of G-d’s holiness, G-d’s Divine rule and direction, and the revelation that you have Jesus’ name.
In other words, you are G-d’s Covenantal person.
However what does it mean to be G-d’s Covenantal person?
Well, let’s look again at Ephesians 3:14-21:
You are strengthened with might through His Spirit in your inner man.
Christ dwells in your hearts through faith.
You are rooted and grounded in G-d’s love.
You are able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height of the love of Christ.
You are filled with all the fullness of God.
So keep focusing on Jesus, and make sure that you have a revelation of the holiness, glory and majesty of Almighty G-d. Make sure that you live righteous, blameless and holy lives before Almighty G-d, and take up your role as a priest and fulfill your highest mission to Jewish people and to Gentiles – It’s called the “Great Commission”.
Finally, “provoke the Jewish people to jealousy so that they may be saved” which will enable my people of the flesh, who are Jesus’ flesh and blood brothers and sisters, to also tap into His glorious name with all its power and authority to be used for the benefit of others and for the Kingdom.
